Trust 04:06
You hold a piece A puzzle in your hands Slowly we’ll work together Try to understand Did I find you? Did you find me? Sins and scars they run so deep Apart of everyday Back from the edge Reinvent my head Rip the idols from the wall I look and see You’re in front of me Now just trust in you Make sense of it all Seems relentless and strange These times that we are in now Thought life was meant to ease Put your trust in me I’ll put my trust in you Lets dive into the sea Lets start this book anew

Wake up! Find your state of mind 10 years on and Rome is on fire Read events in the coldness of your world Is that it? No compassion in your tone Watch the city burn down the narrow road passed the factory long rolling curves see the trees in line see the past disappear I've been here before Have I been here before? Rolling down that road turning round the bend stepping through the door into the dark pulling back the drapes stepping through the trees down by the shore Have I been before

Out Of Reach 02:41
All the people Feel looks rain down on me Lost the plot now Or just a casualty Hey man what your problem Emergency Lost in it all And you look the other way Sharpen their knives But you take some time, step outside You’ve got to find a place out of reach All the feelings Cascading over me Walk the streets and Beaten down by memories Hey man, what’s your problem Not clear to see Lost in it all And you look the other way Sharpen their knives But you take some time, step aside You’ve got to find the perfect path to beat Lost in it all And you look the other way Sharpen their knives But you take some time, step outside One foot forward at a time Each day your pain fades away Another grain day by day I rise above it all Out of reach

Step 04:02
Take a step Off your course Disappear From what they know How will you Keep your head Barely held up By a thread Leave it all behind Nothing left inside Catch yourself On the ledge Ripped it up To Start again Know I feel Had to go I’m made of more Than you’ll ever know Fear is on its way Standing here far from home Pages burning Film is ending I step away
7.
Wait to hear the voices calling Echos from the past just reminding me Of all our failures past present You start the day just fighting off enemies Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it anymore Find place amongst it all A crowd of people standing out from the crowd Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it anymore You have a voice to be heard So many voices with dangerous words and I just can’t stand it Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it anymore Apologise for existing You had it easy now its time to pay the price Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it anymore Media has stopped reporting Now in-sighting us all against ourselves Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it anymore Fear is now what they’re pushing Pressure’s pushing down on me How long to go? Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it How Long To Go? Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it I will not break down anymore! Just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it And I just can’t stand it I WILL NOT BREAKDOWN ANYMORE

Carry Me 04:55
Push the ones that you love For the pain you had to share The ties that bind, burn your wrists Would you forgive them anyway Carry me and I’ll carry you The weight is meant for two All that pain broke your bones Never broke your soul Carry me and I’ll carry you Love was too much to bear All that hurt ate you inside But it never stopped your heart Guilt hangs heavy round your neck For all the things you’d done Remember all the words you said Now there’s nothing left to say Carry me and I’ll carry you The weight is meant for two All that pain broke your bones But never broke your soul Carry me and I’ll carry you Love was too much to bear All that hurt ate you away But never stopped your heart Your Part of Every Change in our world Part of Every Change the world Its Part of Every Change in your world You’re racing to forget about your world Get lost and I can’t look until I’ve learned Your lost in everyday in this world Your lost in every part you’ve ever known Look at every part of you, you’ve known Looked at every path your ever roamed Looking at every part of who you know

about

I made this album pre-Mules during the lockdown of 2020 when the pandemic hit and lockdown was enforced. I thought without a band I would learn to produce and record an album at home. Thus giving me something to focus on and stay sane.

Initially I thought this would be easy in that I've written many songs that i've never recorded and I set about just collecting them and starting to record them. Finally all these songs that never had a home would be committed to a finished track. Though weirdly, that's not what happened...

Maybe I'd left it too long or maybe it was just the times and what I was feeling. But the songs I'd written and played for years suddenly didn't resonate with me or what I was doing and the things that got me excited were the little experiments I'd been doing on my Mac.

Initially I had about 20 track ideas in various forms but it became clear that this would be a new album, made from the view point me in 2020. So I focussed on the new tracks and slowly but surely the album started to reveal itself.

I knew this was not going to be an acoustic singer-songwriter album nor would it be about lockdown. I wanted it to be eclectic and show what I could do as a musician given this rare freedom with no time limit.

The breakthrough came in the latter parts of the year when I realised I needed to just keep it simple. I limited myself to a palette of sounds and just honed in on my strengths. The last hurdle was the lyrics...

While I had been very clear not to get to personal, I found without the fresh stimulus of the outside world I had nothing to write about. The words that I just uttered seemed to come from nowhere and as much as I tried to avoid it became a cathartic personal outpouring. Lyrically covering dreams, life, death, love, mental illness as well as frustrations of life in 2020.

And so here it is, warts and all.

Although this is a "solo" record it would not be here without the invaluable help, talents and support of Nick Mee, Scott Greenshields and Kirsty Levett.

Hope you enjoy
